  • Combat Expertise

Little is known about Rorn, the Elf. About twenty years ago he was first sighted holding a bloody hand to his right eye and clutching a sword of Elven make while stumbling naked into a small northern village near the Telrith Forest. The villagers saw tattoos on his body, symbolistic of a ritual stigmatizing that looked like a caricature of an elf leaping towards a shining light. The light seemed to darken whenever Rorn’s blood got near it.

Refusing help, Rorn asked the villagers if he could work at a blacksmith’s shop until he could afford some clothes, the local blacksmith took him in and helped him bandage his useless eye. After a few years, Rorn took up all of his belongings and bid the blacksmith a farewell, armed with nothing but his Elven Thinblade, some armor and his favorite shield, he headed for Gazhitdown.

Upon arriving at the capital, Rorn set out to prove his fighting mastery. He would goad and insult his enemies into dueling him for gold and then simply take their weapons away without any bloodshed. However, whenever someone would approach Rorn asking about the Elves, Rorn would ask them to leave, his single eye burning with hate. In one case, a human fighter named Dart Swifthand said “How did feel to be exiled?” intending to knock Rorn off his guard. But instead, when Rorn disarmed the human, instead of walking away he slashed out Dart’s right eye, and then said “That’s what it felt like to get exiled”

Rorn also lost too, but it only inflamed his determination to become a better swordsmaster. He didn’t care about life, good and bad had no difference to him; all that mattered now was the sweet music of combat. Rorn will not kill if he doesn’t have to, but he will kill or maim if the opponent insults him or angers him in any way.

When Rorn heard about the Orcish invasion, he set out looking for a fight immediately. The Orc’s had many great fighters, and Rorn wanted to face them all.
